Emails from the Pastor

Good Tuesday morning and what a wonderful start to our Maker Fun Factory VBS as we had 112
children with us last night!  Feel free to visit and check it out anytime between 6:00-9:00pm tonight!

This Friday, July 14th @ 9:00am we will begin to remove the non-sanctuary VBS props and equipment such as
the tarps in the upstairs changing rooms, water slides, etc.  If you can assist Dave please meet at the church
at 9:00am.  Help with the sanctuary scenery is needed following worship this Sunday.

Our Sunday worship on July 16th will celebrate this awesome week of VBS!  We will sing songs of praise,
witness one of the Kid-Vid cinemas, see what begins with the letter "X" from the Glory Box, capture wonderful
pics of all the activities VBS offered and hear from children, youth and adults as to how they experienced God
in this fun-filled week.  Come join us and bring family and friends.  This is a great Sunday to share our children's
ministry with others.
**We will resume the James in July sermon series, with chapter 3, on July 23rd.**

Please keep Raymond Bradshaw in prayer as he is in very serious condition at Upstate Medical Center PICU.
Please keep the family of Evaline Gordon in prayer as her funeral is Thursday at Noon.

No Limits!
Pastor Mark

Thoughts to Ponder

"No one can go back and make a brand new start, but anyone can start here and make a brand new end."

"The answers you get depend upon the questions you ask.....ask wisely"  Thomas Kuhn

This has described my day so far and maybe yours also:  "The next time your mind wanders, follow it around for a while" :-)

"The Lord needs more witnesses not more judges"    John E. Herman

"You cannot fix what you will not face."     James Baldwin

"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves."     Leo Tolstoy

"Every opportunity to fear is also an opportunity to trust God"    John Maxwell

"Character is the total of thousands of small daily strivings to live up to the best that is in us."

"Never do we portray our own character more vividly than in the manner of portraying another"

"You will never stub your toe standing still,  The faster you go the more chance you have of stubbing your toe and the more chance you have of getting somewhere"     Charles Kettering

"Never does the human soul appear so strong and noble as when it forgoes revenge and dares to forgive."
Romans 12:17 "Never pay back evil for evil.  Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear though."   TLB

Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God.  It is the quickening of conscience by the holiness of God, the nourishment of the mind by the truth of God, the purifying of the imagination by the beauty of God, the opening of the heart to the love of God, and the submission of the will to the purpose of God.                         Archbishop William Temple

CONVERSION IS moving from “that belongs to me” to “I belong to that!”  To move from "selfish vision" to "service vision", to move from “do something for me” to “let me do and be for God and others.”

As I go forward in life I will make it my goal to focus on the donut and not the hole :-)  (taken from the children's sermon on Nov 23)

"Our prayers are answered not when we are given what we ask but when we are challenged to be what we can be."   -  - Morris Adler

The "what if" question begs completion: "what if we tried?"

:Find your true path.  It's so easy to become someone we don't want to be, without even realizing it's happening.  We are created by the choices we make every day.-- Bernie Siegel, M.D.

One's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.-- Oliver Wendel Holmes
